School stuff

So for those of us still educationally inclined, what's the happenings? How long have we all got left on our programs, what have we got on this semester and what do we walk away with at the end of it all?

I'm in my last semester of my CompSci program with papers in 3D computer graphics, web programming, advanced OO design and a capstone project. Uni is great but, man, I can't wait to finish. Now I gotta look for a job.

I have 5 papers left in my degree so I'm planning on going hard and finishing after the first semester next year. Then I need to complete a post-grad diploma and can start working my way towards CA.

This semester I'm doing Statistics, and Employment Law, which should both be fairly easy papers I hope.

I finished my degree 2 years ago and still haven't used it yet, I'm now a volunteer for Kevin Rudd's election campaign in Griffith, Brisbane so Ill try and network while I'm doing that and get into some sort of politics field. I have to leave my job, I've been filing for 9 months now and the pay (I just got a raise) and hours (finish at 3pm every day) and work (A lot of mucking around during the day) are so sweet that I'm not looking for other work as thoroughly as I should be. Watch this space though as I feel at 26 years old, I'm too old to be assing about, time to sort career.

LOL yeah gotta be careful not to get struck in a dead-end job just because it's cruisy. Mind you it's difficult to leave a job in this market.

I'm still studying part time doing the NZ Diploma in Business. I have 5 papers left and am currently doing one paper per semester so that I can still have a life although on the downside it means its going to take me another few years till I'm finally finished.

This semester I'm doing Financial Accounting.

Bachelor of Sport and Rec complete by November...if I were studying at AUT I might be getting an honours degree, but because I'm doing it through BOP Poly I will not, probably won't be able to find a job (negative ay) but for now will stay at the gym and get some Les Mills under my belt for fun yay!

I didn't realise you were going to have a bachelors so soon. Nice one - having a degree opens a lot of doors.....well it does in warmer job markets anyway.
