Dave and a couple of other people are looking at doing a few running events this year, and I'm gonna do some too - starting with the Xterra 1/2 Marathon in Rotorua in April. Here is the calendar Dave put together and emailed me - I hope he doesn't mind me posting it? If anyone is interested in doing any of these, give Dave a call.
Here is the calendar, viewable by anyone: http://bit.ly/cbKhvh
Ok, I'll bite: What do the colours mean?
See key at bottom
I'm hoping you put that in after I asked that.
Looks good, I could definately be keen for the first couple...what sort of training schedule are you looking at Dave?
Doing 10-15k runs at the moment three times a week. Want to do maybe two 10/15kms and a longer 20+ each week. My schedule will not be ideal as I will have to start pre-season football training soon and the inevitable knee/ankle niggles will probably get rid of several weeks of training.
In saying that, when I did my first 1/2 marathon my longest run prior to that was 10km. So I guess I'm already on track for April......
Im keen to do the Rotorua Xterra

Running Calendar
That websites the best in NZ for running. Thats where I got all the events for the other calendar from. Prefer to have all the information on one page.
It truly is a horrible website - and they seem to sell websites to others.
Its just one of the many niches in which with time and work you could develop a very nice little business out of.
Its the "No.1 NZ Athletics" website (hitwise), the problem of course would stem from how to convert people from something that whilst not esthetically pleasing is 100% functional...
Just do whatever Apple did with the iPod and iPhone.
That's really the best? Man, seems like someone could step up and produce a website 100x better than that and make some $$$$
May not be pretty, but has all the info required and a respectable filter.
I ran 17km yesterday, just randomly. I was running home and decided to go the long way. I'm not very fit right now so it was a very long slow run, but I still surpised myself. I'm so stiff today that I can barely stand 0.o
Anyone keen to do a 5km or10km run, or half marathon on the 6th of June at the Mt? I'm definitely thinking about it.
OK.
I'll confirm closer to the time, but always up for it.
